Go gentle into that goodnight?

I was the discussion leader for this week, and the poem I analyzed was Dylan Thomas's Do Not Go Gentle Into That Goodnight. This poem is about making your life count. When old age comes and death is at your door what will you look back on? What did you do that made it all worth while? This poem is also about fighting. Even when you are beaten up, and bruised, you will not simply just give in and die. You have to fight for your right to live and be happy. It's a challenge to take the risks that make your life meaningful. After I read this poem, I asked my self  "Did Dylan Thomas go gentle into that goodnight?" After spending a good amount of time on the internet, I found my answer. In the last month of Dylan's life, he spent a fair amount traveling and meeting with most of his friends. He knew he was sick, and only getting sicker. In the last 2 weeks of his live he decided he would never stop drinking. This eventually caused his illness to get much, much worse. Leading to his tragic death. So I came to the conclusion that Dylan Thomas did not go gentle into that goodnight.
