Metamorphosis- Ryan Green
During this reading I kept asking myself, "What is going on?" This is for many reasons. Right off the bat I thought it was a story about a man being transformed into a cockroach. Since we only read half the text I wondered why was he transformed to a cockroach. The next class Julie told me to read more carefully, and actually figure out what was goign on. I then read it more carefully thinking it was about a heroin addict. I wondered why was this heroin addict treated and acting so strange in these terrible conditions. While I read the second half, I had no clue what the outcome was going to be... What is wrong with this man? It was killing me inside that I could not figure it out. I would think one way but then something else would have me think not so much. So what was wrong with this man? Finally the ending of the story didnt completely tell us what was wrong with this man, but I am ninety nine percent sure that the man had cancer and was never treated. What an amazing yet brutal way for an author to write about cancer. How creative yet gruesome.
