Christian Fournier
The poem White Elephants was a different type of poetry reading than I am used to. It seemed to me to be more of a story, and at first, abortion never came into my mind when i was reading this. I thought it was about a couple that liked to drink, and the wife was in a bad mood. But once it was brought to my attention that it was about the couple having an abortion, thats when everything started to make more sense. I like how the story had to trains to represent the direction of life, and the hills having the spirit of life. At first I didn't like to poem, but now after reading it a few times, and knowing what it is about, its a pretty good poem.
