The story The Handsomest Drowned Man in the World by Gabriel Garcia Marquez was a very interesting story. The story was about a village on the ocean's coast that finds a dead body washed up on the shore line. This body is not a normal body to them. To the people of the village this body is the biggest body they have ever seen. They start to basically phrase this body and give it a more then normal funeral service, which I think is weird because they dont even know this person. The village named this body Estaban which is the name of the first african-american person to come to america and he was very strong and smart. So for the villiage to name the dead man this was a big deal. What is mind bottling to me is that they do all this for this body but they dont even know him. The only thing they know about him was that he is big to them and he washed up on there shoreline dead. So it is a bit odd to me that they are going through all this. It almost implies that this villiage is a very boring place so any little excitment like this that happens that make a big deal about it because it doesnt happen to much.
