I really enjoyed the poem "The Dog". I believe the poem is about a dog that was trying to chase another animal across a road and ended up getting hit by a car. The entire poem is about the thoughts about the dog after the accident. he is just hoping that someone comes and pets his forehead and his muzzle before he dies. he knows that hes close to death but still he is holding on.
