I thought that this week was very productive. Instead of writing are essays and editing them are selves, we matched up with a partner and we helped edit one another. At first, I wanted to compare the short stories, The Lottery and Battle Royal since they can be compared very easily. They have similar themes and symbolism represented in each short story. But as my partner began to edit my paper, we both came to an agreement that it may be a lot easier to chose one topic instead of two. I came to a conclusion that writing about The Lottery would be the best fit for me. I understood the story very well and I was able to look at the story very easily and understand its symbolism and the themes represented in the story. Hopefully my partners editing will help me write my new essay and the decision that we came to will be the right decision.
