Close readings

We'll be talking a little more this week about reading poetry a little more closely. In your blog posts (which, by the way, are due BEFORE class every Thursday) I'd like you to write in much more detail about one of the poems you've read for the week. In your posts, be sure to mention the definitions of any of the words you needed to look up, and also mention any 'double-meanings' you might have come across in the poem. Many of the blog posts here discuss imagery, but the details are vague.  In your future posts, make sure you provide specific details of the imagery you're describing, and explain how this imagery helps the author make his or her point. Some of your posts are well developed and detailing, demonstrating that you have read and thought about the readings. Well done. Some, however, need more detail, development, and a sense that you are very familiar with what you have been required to read.
