After 2 solid weeks of class, we have already completed 2 works of literature. So far my favorite has been Cask of Amontillado.  I enjoyed this so much because the symbolism was a lot more clearer in this story, and there was more sustenance to the story. In this work of literature Amontillado is a very envious man, and dwells on the opinion that Fortunato has a better life then him. Amontillado becomes so consumed by his jealousness for Fortunato he devises a plan to resolve his problem. He gets Fortunato absolutely obliterated, and tricks him into following him into the wine cellar  Amontillado then traps Fortunado in an enclosed space, and leaves him there to die. I found this story very similar to another one of Edgar Allen Poe's other works called Tell Tale Heart. The premise of both of these stories are extremely similar in the way of which the main character goes crazy and kills someone, and then hides the body in a very dark deep place. I enjoyed the very descriptive ways of Poe's writing and how his characters are rather unpredictable, and incredibly dark minded. Even though I am not a huge fan of literature and reading, this kind of reading my favorite. When the completely unpredictable happens. One of the main questions I had from this reading was, Why did Amontillado feel that Fortunato insulted him? Overall, this was a pretty good read, and was one of the better of Poe's stories that I have read.
